A feature where I share a good deal I happen upon...be it wine, food, or just something fun...If you have something Cheap & Cheerful you'd like to share, leave a link or suggestion in the Comments section at the end of this post! Enjoy!
Another dandy, of the cheap and cheerful variety...and again at TJ's. (I know, apparently I'm not getting out much these days. It is summer, after all, and there are so many activities preferable to shopping.)
Luques olives, from France, of course. Delicious. Firm fleshed, with a fairly mild flavor, as far as green olives go. Throw some on the table for a pre-dinner snack, if the natives are getting restless. Or, if you're like me, have them be part of dinner, along with bread, cheese, and some fruit. Oh, yum.
By the way, that sweet little olive dish? Isn't that the goods. We picked it up when we were back visiting our old stomping grounds, in Portugal, a couple of years ago. I love this dish, there's even a little section to spit your pit. Okay, well, place your pit. Spitting is definitely gross at the table. But it rhymed nicely.
Happy August to you all!
